The stations and substations are located throughout the continents of the main lands of Second Life, and groups of regions that contain large expanses of open waters. This is a group entirely based on Volunteers who like mindedly share the mission to educate real life boating safety. The members of the group come from all over the globe, and from all walks of life. The SL Coast Guard has endured and gone farther than the founder had ever expected. ![]() But, this was a journey that only the persistent and brave could endure. And now in its twelfth year of service to the SL grid, it has become one of the largest, and most active groups of maritime safety of its kind. And since this group formed, it has grown exponentially. The mission was to educate real life safe boating practices to the residents of Second Life. I even had the pleasure of meeting some little explorers arriving for musical chairs (but realizing they had missed it – they were happy to explore the area). Through my travels, I explored various children’s stores, campfire locations, playgrounds, outdoor activity areas, and local wildlife. Satisfied with finding the bowling ally and other games, I returned to the parlor and enjoyed an ice cream before venturing further around Nuggets. The Bowling sign piqued my interest and off I went in search of the familiar clatter of pins crashing against the polished wood lanes. Rounding the bend, I found myself in front of a nibbles parlor and outdoor gaming tables. Noticing the enticing beach front, the availability of wagons and dino cars to ride, the daily events board, and the path leading off in various directions.ĭeciding which way I would embark, I turned to the left and followed the road listening to the sounds emerging from the environment around me. Hearing the taxi depart, I turned around and moved towards the road once more. I ventured down the boardwalk a bit to read the sign in front of the Ferris wheel learning about the location’s upcoming grand opening. As my eyes adjusted to the sunlight, memories of other adventures (real-life) came to mind as I took in the arcade, restaurants, and the boardwalk strip leading to the Ferris Wheel. Stepping out of the taxi, I was greeted by a friendly voice welcoming me to Nuggets. Please join me as I venture through the beautiful family sim called Nuggets.
